The eldest member of the band , Mal Simms, is a kind of bridge between two worlds, the traditional and the contemporary. An incredible vocalist and bodhran player, his knowledge and enthusiasm for all types of music combined with his skill and understanding of the folk world make him a valuable asset. Paul Burgess' superb rhythmic guitar and mandolin playing are the driving force behind Legacy. Flautist Clare Sanders is a convert to jazz and improvised music after many years of classical training. The accomplished fiddle player Tim Cotterell is an has played in many bands in many different parts of the world and is able to bring to the band a myriad of styles including traditional Irish, contemporary jazz and music from Eastern Europe and America. |
